After-School Mentor-Tutoring
After-school mentoring and tutoring provides students additional one-on-one time to complete homework, other assignments and to receive instruction in academic and personal development skills. All students in the schools where we hold this program are welcome to recieve our services, not just students receiving Teens Act services. Teens Act is committed to helping students through our After-school program services.
Mentors-Tutors come from BYU, UVU and Community Partners such as United Way (UW) and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Utah County (BGCU). Our BGCU partnership focuses on STEM subject improvement. STEM subjects are those that many students need assistance with.
Because Teens Act has year round services we provide Summer School programs. These services include homework, credit recovery, and original credit assistance through personal mentoring-tutoring. Mentoring and tutoring also includes instruction in student success skills in leadership and personal development skills such as Achievement, Character, Tenacity, etc.
