- Physically attend and participate in board meetings (every two to three months, 2 hours, 4-6 times a year) and other related activities of the organization (ie Serve on either the Program or Development Committees, present to individuals and groups about the mission of Teens Act, etc.)
- Commit to serve at least for one year.
- Commit to attaining a full understanding of the mission and strategies of the organization.
- Help secure additional financial resources for Teens Act through networking and fundraising efforts.
- Uphold the responsibilities of a trustee in order to ensure public trust and proper legal governance.
- Not “micromanage” the day-to-day operations of Teens Act, i.e., take on staff roles inappropriately.
- Serve as a spokesperson to the community in a professional way consistent with the values and beliefs of the organization.
