Mentor
Mentors are individuals who can assist in mentoring and tutoring students. If you are a skilled teacher and communicator or are a strong leader with a passion for helping teenagers succeed, then being a mentor is a perfect fit. If you do not have these skills, then this is a great opportunity to serve your community while developing your skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Lead Mentor in the Student Success Class.
  • Help students understand class material and with homework from other classes
  • Build and maintain good relationships with students
  • Motivate and encourage students to achieve their goals
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Lead small group discussions

​Qualifications:
  • Be a strong team member
  • Have college level academic skills in order to tutor effectively
  • Commit 3-5 hours per week
  • Commit to at least one high school semester
  • Previous experience teaching or mentoring youth is not required, but a plus
  • Spanish proficiency is not required, but a plus
